Crowned Heads is excited to announce 'Blood Medicine Limited Edition 2024,' a tribute to the
company's hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.
Blood Medicine's roots extend back to 2015, when it was launched as an event-only cigar with an original production of 6,000 cigars that lasted only until the end of that year. In 2022, Blood Medicine was revived, once again as an event-only cigar, premiering on June 3 of that year at Squire Cigars in Santa Rosa, CA. "To this point, we've only utilized 'Blood Medicine' as an event-only, gift-with-purchase cigar, and always in a traditional 5" x 50 robusto vitola,''
commented Crowned Heads co-founder, Jon Huber. "The blend has always been truly
exceptional, and based upon the inquiries and feedback I was personally receiving, I felt as
though not enough people were receiving the opportunity to enjoy it. So late last year, we
decided to take the blend, adjust it to a 6" x 52 vitola, and make it available internationally."
'Blood Medicine' takes it's name from a three story building located on the corner of Broadway and 4th Avenue in downtown Nashville. That building was originally built as a three-floor pharmacy in 1872 before being converted into a hotel in 1892. The hotel operated until the1980's, and in 1988 the building would be purchased and re-opened as Merchants Restaurant, which is still in operation today. Over the years, The Merchants Hotel would host such iconic music luminaries as Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and Patsy Cline. While many legendary tales exist about this historic building, evidence of the original pharmacy still exists.
On the original exposed brick wall on the third floor of Merchants Restaurant, a portion of the
painted words, "Blood Medicine,'' remains visible.
The Blood Medicine blend is comprised of an Ecuadorian (Connecticut) binder, all Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, and finished with a near flawless Ecuadorian (Habano) cover leaf. Production is limited to 1,500 (12-count) boxes for the global market. The suggested retail price for Blood Medicine LE 2024 is $11.95 per cigar.
Blood Medicine LE 2024 is manufactured at the TacaNlcsa factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, under
the supervision of Eradio Pichardo. Shipping will begin later this month.
