For the first time ever, Crowned Heads will be unveiling the sought-after limited release extension to its Four Kicks brand, Mule Kick, at the PC Convention and International Trade Show, to be held in Las Vegas July 7-11.
Also for the first time, the Four Kicks Mule Kick LE 2023 will feature a modified blend from the previous 6 versions, incorporating Dominican tobaccos into the blend that was previously all Nicaraguan. "The cover leaf really drove the blend for this year's Mule Kick," commented Crowned Heads co-founder, Jon Huber. "When Ernesto (Perez-Carrillo) presented this dark, rich Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper to us last year, I immediately earmarked it for Mule Kick
2023. When we went to validate the Mule Kick 2023 blend with that wrapper, Ernesto presented an alternative version of the blend that took the flavor profile to a different level. As it turned out, that blend incorporated a Dominican binder and some Dominican Piloto Cubano in the filler."
The original Four Kicks Mule Kick (2012) featured an Habano (Ecuador) wrapper that was judged too dark for the regular production Four Kicks brand, and a slightly altered binder-filler combination comprised of all Nicaraguan tobaccos. That same blend would be re-released again in 2017. From 2018-2020, and again in 2022, the Mule Kick blend would appear annually with a different cover leaf each year.
Total production of Four Kicks Mule Kick LE 2023 will be limited to 3,000 (10-count) boxes, and will have an MSRP of $12.95 per cigar. Manufactured at Tabacalera La Alianza, S.A., in Santiago, Dominican Republic, under the supervision of Cigar Aficionado Hall of Fame member, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, Four Kicks Mule Kick LE 2023 will begin shipping in August.
